The Chandelier Room
A White Linen Night Experience
This Thursday evening, a pop-up gallery will emerge in Parc Lafayette for White Linen Night, an event that has become a custom for southern summers.
Chandelier Room Manager Jenny Krueger said attendees of her venue would partake in a social and fashionable way to stay cool while viewing the work of more than 25 artists at various points in their creative careers, both well-known, unknown, seasoned and beginning.
“White linen in the south has been historically a fashion staple as a way to stay fashionable cool during the hot summer months. We want you to grab your friends and use this opportunity to mingle with friends, learn about local artists, watch live art, taste signature cocktails and people watch,”Krueger.
Food and cocktails will be available at The Chandelier Room & Le Pavilion along with a few Parc Lafayette merchants for complimentary wine and menu items. The event will also have an official after-party at The Grouse Room & Agave.
This is the first White Linen Night for the new venue. Krueger said part of the dream of The Chandelier Room she had at its inception along with co-owner Nicole Davis DesOrmeaux was to bring new vision into its space. Krueger views her venture as a blank canvas that will provide events like this one with their own feel.
Krueger said the venue opened in January of this year. The Chandelier Room’s name was inspired by The Chandelier Bar in Las Vegas, and utilizes elements such as visual body art and modern modern dance in addition to cocktails.Dancers from Basin Arts perform wearing the work of renowned local body painter Brittney Pelloquin.
“Through the art of body painting, Brittney Pelloquin transforms the human figure into a fine art creation. Bringing out the beauty of each individual in its purest form to allow each individual to feel like the true artwork that they are, beautiful in their own skin,” she said.
White Linen Night will take place Thursday, May 17, from 6-9 p.m. The event is free to the public, though a $50 VIP package is available. It includes a parking space, champagne and a swag bag.
Free parking and shuttle transportation is available at two of its sponsor, Home Bank, locations, one located at River Ranch at 1245 Camellia Blvd., and one located at 503 Kaliste Saloom Road. Guests are also encouraged to Uber.
