New Orleans-inspired wedding gifts

Gift giving in any context can be a challenge. Unless there is a registry or “wish list” of sorts, how do you know you’re getting exactly what the person desires?

New Orleanians are lucky to be surrounded by creative and crafty people with no end of city-related gifts in sight. Below are a few gift ideas that recently hit our radar.

First, is a ceramic oyster bowl and oyster serving spoons from Home Malone – a Mid-City store dedicated to selling merchandise exclusively made in the Deep South. This bowl is dishwasher, oven, grill and microwave safe, in addition to being a pretty and practical display piece.

Louisiana-based Mimosa Handcrafted creates beautiful pieces of jewelry that represents the Pelican State. The company’s Louisiana cufflinks are a great way for any Louisiana groom looking to represent his home on his Big Day. Available in bronze or sterling silver, each set of cufflinks is handmade by the Mimosa team.

Finally, we love these painted cottage wall hooks available at Fleurty Girl and made by local artist Bridget Prater. They come in a few different sizes and designs and is a subtle way to add a little New Orleans style into a couple’s home.

We also love the Superdome door hanger just in time for Saint’s football season and a must for any football-themed engagement party or wedding-related event.

Lagniappe: You can gift wrap all of these items in New Orleans-inspired wrapping paper, like oysters or magnolias, also found at Home Malone.
