Let Them Eat Cake

The official blog of New Orleans Bride Magazine, offering a daily dose of all things weddings

Here Comes the Blog

New Orleans Bride Magazine offers daily dose of wedding news, trends, tips

Sophistication. Class. Style.

Marie Antoinette was one of the most influential people of her time and rightly so. She may not have had the finest reputation by the time she met her fate at the guillotine, but she had the finest of everything else. Whether it be a party or how she decorated her home-away-from-home, the Petit Trianon, Marie Antoinette had the best linens, china and the unsurpassed taste of any Queen of France.

Her love of finery and all things exciting and gorgeous is one of the reasons for our nod to her in the title of the new, official blog of New Orleans Bride Magazine, “Let Them Eat Cake,” (New Orleans’ rich French history is of course the other reason). While working on New Orleans Bride Magazine, which prints twice per year, we noticed a need for a place to offer those little daily news bites, information, trends, ideas and inspiration, as well as the latest tidbits from local experts. Also, according to the Association for Wedding Professionals, New Orleans is the No. 3 wedding city in the United States, with an average of 36,000 marriages (Las Vegas and Gatlinburg, Tennessee are No. 1 and No.2, respectively). With so many couples tying the knot in NOLA, we hope “Let Them Eat Cake,” becomes the No. 1 resource for local brides, and the scores of you travelling to the Crescent City for your weddings. We also hope to be a destination for our fellow wedding junkies who just enjoy reading fun, informative and beautiful bridal blogs.

Here’s what you can expect from “Let Them Eat Cake”:
