Bridal Fashion Week Part Two: Trends, They are a Changin’

Yesterday, we started our look into fashion presented by bridal designers for Bridal Fashion Week in New York City. Two of the designers we highlighted as our favorites were Naeem Khan and Viktor & Rolf (see the post here).

Today began a discussion on a common theme we saw throughout the collections this year: a low-cut V-neck. Is this truly something that the everyday bride can get behind in terms of what’s trending?

We were reminded of a trend from last year’s Bridal Fashion Week. The image was of countless dresses displaying a Fall 2017 look: high necklines. In just a year, designers went from displaying high boat neck or straight, across the shoulder looks to dropping it very low.

There is not right or wrong and each brings its own style and flair to an outfit. The low cut look could give issue to a bride looking for a traditional church wedding, say at the St. Louis Cathedral or Immaculate Conception – both popular ceremony locations for the French Quarter and Central Business District and both with slightly more stringent apparel guidelines.

What do you think about this change in design? Would you sport a low-cut look?
