DJ Doc Roc / Memorial Day Weekend (Saturday ~ 5.26.12)


It's Memorial Day weekend, so there's another reason to throw a party at Metropolitan. This Saturday we are bringing you everybody's favorite DJ, Doc Roc. Playing along with Doc will be DJ Ronnie Roux, DJ Wixx, and DJ TAF.

For the past two decades, DJVJ Doc Roc has been a rising talent with continuous club bookings around the country and new releases that can be found on numerous websites such as; Funkymix & Ultimix Records(Ultimix.com), Extremeremixes.com, Theremixclub.com as well as Crooklynclan.net and Smashvidz.com for video remixes.
Doc Roc started DJ’ing in Germany at the age of 12, but it wasn’t until coming back to the states did his career really take off. He has won many awards including All European DJ Champion, Southeast DMC Regional Champion, Southeast Regional DJ Spin-off Champion, 2nd place in the National DJ Spin-off and voted Florida DJ of the Year for 11 years in a row along with his most recent win “Best DJ” in the Best of the Best - Emerald Coast. He has been featured in Jive Magazine, DJ Times (music revue), Nightclub and Bar and on MTV’s Spring Break in Panama City Beach, FL.2000-2009. Doc has opened for artists, Pitbull, Flo Rida,Ying Yang Twins, Snoop Dogg, Kid Cudi, Three 6 Mafia,Vanilla Ice, & Digital Underground.

In recent years he has combined his love of visual arts and his profound musical ear with years of remixing, producing and live club gigs and unified them in a way like no other DJVJ can. Doc continues to have a phenomenal fan base following in the entire Southeast.
With the initiation of Serato, Doc elevated his club game to new heights and made the most of a new innovative technology. Through the mix of video and sound, this crowd motivator electrifies his musical stylings into adrenaline packed show that work his audiences into a frenzy. DVDJ Doc Roc knows no limits when it comes to ALL music, he has the talent set to put each video together flawlessly during his set. Doc is a one of a kind DJVJ that is often imitated but can never be duplicated.



DJ Ronnie Roux bio:
In high school, he always had a liking to play the music at everyone’s house party. Stepping into the club scene as a patron, he quickly made friends with the DJ in every nightclub he went to. Then, the luckiest break ever, a resident DJ at a club he went to was ready to retire. With an offer no 19 year old guy could refuse, he took that DJ job without thinking twice. With no formal training and no clue what to do, Ronnie quickly caught on to the DJ scene. The end result of that lucky break made Ronnie Roux one of the most sought after disc jockeys in New Orleans. He’s played in the top nightclubs New Orleans has to offer. His versatility in music formats keeps him busy on the weekends with nightclubs and corporate event planners. He’s contracted with the two biggest corporate event planners in New Orleans for the busy tourism industry. Currently residing at the biggest nightclub in New Orleans, he plays a video DJ set every Saturday at Metropolitan. Whether it’s hip hop, EDM, top 40 or party rock, he can play it all.

DJ Wixx bio:
Born and raised in New Orleans. The Dj seed was planted while helping a friend at a house party, and ever since then he has been hooked. DJ Wixx quickly landed his first Saturday Night residency at a local hotspot, “Moby’s”. While pursuing a higher education at Southeastern Louisiana University, he landed his second Dj residency. After his four year reign of college, he returned to New Orleans and moved on to spin at local venues across the 504. As the music scene evolved from club to club, so did his music arsenal, spinning anything from Top 40, Hip Hop to Breakbeat, Old School to Mashups and didn’t stop there by adding videos to his set. His ball of fire mixing teamed up with his panoramic audio taste can be seen and heard in New Orleans every weekend at the Metropolitan Night Club.

Saturday Night Standard at Metropolitan Nightclub

Every Saturday Night the two story warehouse turns into Metropolitan nightclub and opens its doors as the premier video nightclub of New Orleans.

Two rooms filled with smoke machines, intelligent lighting and strobes set the party atmosphere. The dance music is provided by resident video DJs Wixx, TAF & Ronnie Roux. Watch the video show on one of our 7 flat screen TVs and 5 projectors.

Special guest DJs come through every few weeks. DJs such as Will Smith's Jazzy Jeff, DJ Scene and Lady Gaga's DJ, Space Cowboy.

Two different formats are offered to our customers. Top 40, Hip Hop, Mash Ups, Rock and Pop are played in one room. The second room plays the best in House, Electro, Techno, Dubstep and Breaks.

Some amenities offered are valet parking, covered walk ways, 11 bartender stations, coat check on select nights and VIP table service.
