Join in Story Times, Toddler Times and Fetch! science activities to celebrate the vibrant Latin American culture! In our Art Trek studio, celebrate our Artist of the Month, Lorenzo Homar, by mixing primary color paints to create new colors. At 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. daily, learn simple Spanish words in a daily Story Time reading of The Cazuela That the Farm Maiden Stirred by Samantha R. Vamos. During a Fetch science activity on Tuesday and Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., make a shaker inspired by the Brazilian Ganza as you learn about sound. Continue the fun on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the Latin American Heritage Festival! Learn about Latin American culture and resources with local community partners including the Latin American Civic Association of Louisiana (LACAL) and Tulane University’s Stone Center for Latin American Studies in collaboration with The New Orleans Public Library’s Pebbles Center.
