The New Orleans Bridal Crawl

Date/Time

Sep 21, 2013

Description

The Creativity Collective would like to announce their first annual New Orleans Bridal Crawl set for Saturday, September 21st, 2013 at 2:30 P.M. Pub-crawl in style, help break the world record for “largest gathering of brides,” and raise money for Cafe Reconcile!

The brides will congregate at 3 P.M. for the official world record count at historic and breathtaking Muriel’s Jackson Square. Come early and enjoy the wraparound balcony overlooking the St. Louis Cathedral and the inner and outer Séance lounge that honor the lavish Storyville era of old New Orleans. Brides will check in to the official count and get their number. For the world record attempt, participants must be wearing traditional wedding dresses. Veils must also be worn for the attempt. Wedding dresses from any culture will be accepted. Yes, the world record will allow for men in bridal gowns! A referee and notary will be there timing and officiating the attempt. Two-hundred-and-fifty-one brides must be in place for 10 minutes to break the world record. Muriels' will be providing a complimentary glass of champagne or cocktail.

After the world record attempt, a toast will set the brides and grooms into pub-crawl motion at 4 P.M. They will be routed through the French Quarter and continue across Canal Street into the Central Business District, stopping at participating venues along the way. Venues will be offering discounts and specialty items to our participants. Tobacco Exchange will be offering cigar specials. Bourbon Cowboy will be offering free bull-rides with I.D. 55 Fahrenheit will be offering five drinks and five dishes for $5 each. Gordon Biersch will be offering a signature, “Something Blue” drink. The event will end at Barcadia. This hip bar and restaurant boasts a pin-up decor, life-size Jenga and walls of ‘80's arcade games, a 5’ tall Connect Four, yummy food and 44 beers on tap. At 9 P.M., we will be throwing the bouquet and awarding the classiest, craziest and most creative ensembles at Barcadia. Photographers and a videographer will capture our journey, and we’ve strategically arranged our passage through gorgeous New Orleans landmarks with photo opportunities in mind. The route is roughly 1.3 miles, but well lubricated! We’re not telling, but we have a few surprises in store!

Wanna relive that special day without all the stress? Always a bridesmaid, never a bride? Exorcise the demons of a bad marriage out of a perfectly good dress! Break out the white dress for a good cause, but wear comfortable shoes! 21 and over, please. I.D. required.

The purpose of this fundraiser is to promote The Creativity Collective and raise funds for Cafe Reconcile. This nonprofit program/restaurant trains at-risk students for food service and hospitality industry positions. Cafe Reconcile additionally assists in the placement of these students ages 16-22 into local restaurants and hotels, giving them an opportunity to build their self-esteem and their lives. The Creativity Collective is an artistic workforce with a community focus. The 501(c)3 awarded non-profit consists of educators, parents, business owners, and academics, as well as musicians, writers, visual artists, and filmmakers.

Bridal Crawl tickets can be purchased online at www.creativitycollective.com/store for $20 per ticket or $35 per pair. Registration will be available at the door for $25 per ticket. Registered participants receive a wristband, drink specials, signature beverages, discounts and admission into all venues. Updates will be posted on our site: www.bigeasybrides.com and our Facebook page: "New Orleans Bridal Crawl."
