Thursday, Dec. 12
Kacey Musgraves, whose incisive and witty country-pop debut Same Trailer Different Park made fans of many music critics this year, performs tonight for WNOE's Christmas Jam at House of Blues. John & Jacob open. Info here.

The Tokyo theater group Faifai performs Anton, Neko, Kuri, a multimedia story of a stray cat suffering from leukemia, at the CAC this weekend. Info here.

The LPO presents its Baroque Christmas concert at First Baptist Church, featuring Christmas favorites including selections from Handel's Messiah. Info here.

The hourlong Amazing Acro-Cats revue, a show of trained, performing cats that has created an avid fanbase in New Orleans, is still on the books at the AllWays Lounge. A portion of the proceeds from this "Meowy Catmas" show benefit the Jefferson SPCA. Info here.

Also kid-friendly is Disney Junior Live: Pirate & Princess Adventure, tonight at the UNO Lakefront Arena. Info here.

Friday, Dec. 13
The annual HAMP (HIV Awareness Music Project) Fest features music by Quintron & Miss Pussycat, The Mike Dillon Band, Vox and the Hound and Les Autres, plus a raffle and free, onsite AIDS testing. Proceeds benefit the Tulane T Cell Clinic, which treats people with HIV regardless of their financial situation. Info here.

The Punk Singer, the documentary about feminist music legend Kathleen Hanna (of bands Bikini Kill, Le Tigre and The Julie Ruin), opens at the Zeitgeist tonight. Info here.

Saturday, Dec. 14
Since New Orleans is so fond of events that require us to wear the same outfit and crowd the French Quarter/Downtown area, it's fitting that the Running of the Santas is hosting an event here. Dress as a Santa (sexy or traditional, it's your call) and embark on a pub crawl starting at Barcadia. Info here.
