Four Festive Looks

From Who Dat to Happy New Year, these table settings will impress your guests and put you in a celebratory mood.

Our Christmas photo, with items from Orient Expressed, features a merry holiday scene with bright reds and deep golds. Pictured in the background are a wire-trellised garden chair and a deep-red silk pillow. In the foreground is a whimsical table setting on a gold-painted open carved wood place mat with a lace motif. Classic Italian red pottery plates are shown with a contrasting hand-painted and gilded glass bowl. The oak leaf salad plate is gold-painted glass, and the seasonal and cheery red goblet is complemented by a fluted champagne glass with a gold rim. The dinner napkin is from Orient Expressed’s exclusive collection of 24-inch hemstitched dinner napkins and is monogrammed in bright red. A small boxwood topiary and red miniature votives complete the simple holiday look.

This subdued and sophisticated New Year’s place setting, with items from Hazelnut, features VIETRI Tuscan ceramics, handmade glazed terra cotta from Italy, in the Bellezza pattern. The linen napkin, exclusive to Hazelnut, is in the store’s signature New Orleans toile, designed by Bryan Batt, in delphine blue and topped with a crown napkin weight in polished pewter. The goblet and flute are handmade Mexican frosted glass. The pewter frog prince on a lily pad is part of a salt and pepper shaker set. Further accenting the setting are a milk glass and a jeweled mercury glass tea light and votive holder, cracked glass orbs and a silk hydrangea.

This year, everyone is a Saints fan. Help cheer on our boys in black and gold with this fun fleurs-de-lis-filled table setting featuring items from Mignon Faget and Quince (except where noted). In the background are a set of three gold leaf-and-glass candlesticks from Quince and gold leaf-and-glass ornaments from Quince in a fleurs-de-lis wine chiller from Mignon Faget. In the foreground on an Italian lacquer tray from Quince are a yellow-and-brown plaid napkin from the stylist’s personal collection topped with, from left, a fleurs-de-lis double old-fashioned glass, a fleurs-de-lis goblet and a fleurs-de-lis tumbler, all from Mignon Faget. Also pictured are a square black plate from the stylist’s personal collection topped with a cheese knife in caramel from Quince and a bowl from the stylist’s personal collection filled with seashell napkin rings from Quince.

This elegant Thanksgiving place setting should make all of your dinner guests thankful to be surrounded by such good taste. All items, except where noted, are from Quince. In the background are a set of three blown-glass hurricane lamps and brown-and-white swirl pottery bowls in medium and small. In the foreground on a basket-weave place mat in citron are a German porcelain charger and dinner plate (topped with a napkin from the owner’s personal collection), flatware in olive, a silver-plated vase from the owner’s personal collection and blown French crystal wine and champagne glasses.
