Play it cool

Summer has arrived, and New Orleanians know that means it’s time to be cool — in every sense.

The weather is heating up, and summer style is keeping pace in a very cool way!

Friends of mine who live outside of the South have asked about our famous heat. “Do you have air conditioning?” they ask innocently. I laugh and tell them, “In Louisiana, I think it might actually be illegal to not have air conditioning.”

Even if air conditioning keeps your home literally cool in these hot and sticky months, these stylish supplements to your home’s décor will ensure that it’s figuratively cool, as well.

The pieces I found in Covington at the newly reopened Villa Vici and on Magazine Street at Ray Langley Interiors, Design Within Reach and Hazelnut are, per my editor’s instructions, “chic, chic, chic!”

And, I might add, cool.
