New Orleans Sushi Fest




New Orleans Magazine's in proud to create New Orleans Sushi Fest and Competition.  It will feature sushi creations from restaurants around the New Orleans area. Each participating chef — restaurant will compete in various categories. One sushi chef will be crowned the 2014 Grand Champion by a panel of judges and other awards will be presented in other competing categories.  All attendees will have a chance to vote for the Peoples Choice Champion. Enjoy an afternoon with some of New Orleans' best sushi chefs while enjoying Japanese beer, crafts and live entertainment.

1 p.m.-2 p.m.: VIP Patron Japanese Room Party sponsored by Sapporo Beer
2 p.m.-5 p.m.: New Orleans Sushi Fest & Competition

VIP Patron Japanese Tea Room Party Sponsored by Sapporo Beer, 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.

Location: River City Ballroom on the River next to Mardi Gras World 1400 Port of New Orleans Place.
Paid Parking off Covention Center Blvd.

Cost: $50 in advance (SOLD OUT), $75 at the door. VIP tickets gain full access to New Orleans Sushi Fest at 2pm.

A special VIP Reception before the actual New Orleans Sushi Fest opens includes complimentary sushi, food, wine, Sapporo beer and soft drinks. The Japan Society of New Orleans and The Japan Club of New Orleans will feature a traditional Japanese tea ceremony and each guests will receive a complimentary bento box with items from our vendors.

New Orleans Sushi Fest & Competition presented by East Jefferson General Hospital, 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Admission: $10 in advance (by Aug. 15), $20 at the door. Children under 12 are free.

Entertainment by Bag of Donuts

Fun for all:
- Japanese art room featuring origami, fan painting and Japanese bookmark painting
- Samurai Japanese Warrior blow-up wrestling ring with wrestling match demonstrations

Giving back: A portion of the proceeds will be donated to the Japan Society of New Orleans and The Japan Club of New Orleans

The Sushi Fest & Competition event will be held in the River City Ballroom. Winners of the competition will be featured in the October issue of New Orleans Magazine.

The event will feature sushi and non-sushi restaurants serving sushi as well as Japanese infused dishes to purchase. A full cash bar will be available.
