Though history has proven that Marie Antoinette did not, in fact, say, “Let them eat cake!” there are few among us who can resist those beautifully decorated sugary confections. So, as we’ve all thought at one time or another, if you can’t beat them, join them! On March 21, join BRAVO and the New Orleans Ballet Association for, “Mais oui, C’est Marie!” the annual Ballet Ball, held at the New Orleans Museum of Art, where we can all feel like French royalty.

The benefactor dinner, chaired by Sheila Davlin, will take place March 18 and will feature white glove service and haute cuisine by Muriel’s Jackson Square restaurant.

The patron party, chaired by Murray and Gerri Valene will reflect French themes as well, a French cabaret by M.I., as well as Mathew Scoggin and Dr. Will Robichaux. Local royalty Charlotte Bollinger, chair of the event guarantees it will be a great time!

Proceeds from the evening will support NOBA and the troupe’s return to the newly renovated Mahalia Jackson Theatre for the Performing Arts. The dancers will return to Mahalia’s beloved stage with the Houston Ballet for a can’t-miss production of Marie, a performance based on the life of cake-o-phile Marie Antoinette.

BRAVO is the largest single contributor to NOBA and makes it possible for them to provide more than 2,500 free dance classes, master classes, workshops and performances to the youth of four parishes, among all of the other exciting dance classes, programs and projects they provide. Debbie Alciatore, BRAVO! President, and major benefactor Phyllis Taylor are sure to be proud of the great leaps being taken for NOBA! Encore, Encore!
