Slidell Little Theater

Slidell Little Theatre is an all-volunteer community theater in its 44th season. The theater strives to present Broadway-style shows as well as original plays by local authors. Intending to give back to the community for its support, SLT offers a children’s summer workshop for students between the ages of 8 and 13. That annual workshop, now known as Young Actors Theatre or YAT, includes classes on all aspects of the theater, and participatory work culminating in student productions.
With the Slidell Commission on the Arts, SLT has sponsored various visiting artists and workshops for artistic and technical growth. The final dress rehearsal, usually the Thursday before each opening night of a production, is open to senior citizens of the area as well as to members of the Sunshine House and local rehabilitation facilities. Upcoming Performances: Call or check the Web site for updated performance information. A Christmas Carol | Nov. 28-Dec. 14. A staging of the Charles Dickens classic. Little Shop of Horrors | Jan. 16-Feb. 1.
