St. Elizabeth’s Guild held its Volunteer Activist Awards Luncheon on Tuesday, October 12, at the Sheraton Hotel to honor the many men and women who work tirelessly to improve our city.

The luncheon featured a fashion show, silent auction, raffles and prizes, all benefiting the Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

The event’s honorees included Annette Francingues, Buzzy Gaiennie, JoAnn Testa Hebert, Suzette Herpich, Debbie Perrone, Kathleen Vogt Robert, Lee Ann Leopold Savoie, Dottie Schule, Henry Shane and Cissy Tittle. Three “Hall of Fame Activists” were honored at the event as well: Betty Davidson, Pat Denechaud and Olga Rome.

St. Elizabeth’s Guild advocates with several children’s programs associated with Catholic Charities, including Café Hope, which gives at-risk youths education and job skills to secure a successful future; Padua Pediatrics, a residential program for medically fragile children; Independent Living Skills Program, which assists teens and young adults preparing to leave foster care; and St. John the Baptist Head Start program, which provides education, social services and health screenings to infants, toddlers and preschoolers.
