The nonprofit Urban Conservancy is dedicated to research, education and advocacy that promote the wise stewardship of the urban built environment and local economies.

In celebration, the organization held its “You are Here” event, a fundraiser and party that was chaired by Sharon Gancarz Davies and Lisa Kanuf.

The event celebrated the essence of this vibrant area, with a wide array of entertainment that’s unique to the city.

Meschiya Lake and the Little Big Horns and Country Fried performed music, while the Mystic Pony Aerial Troupe also put on a show. Food was provided by La Boulangerie, La Divina Gelataria, Liberty’s Kitchen, Meals from the Heart, Michael Joyner Catering, Nolavore, St. James Cheese Company and Two Tonys. Abita Brewery and Pal’s Lounge provided sangria and signature cocktails

More than 100 Urban Conservancy supporters attended, and funds generated at the event will benefit the Lafitte Greenway project, economic research along the Gulf Coast of Louisiana and workshops and networking opportunities for local businesses through the Stay Local! Program.
