FeBe Clothing Stores

Cheryl Gerber Photographs

What is your profession?

I am the owner, with my sister Bessie Papazis, of FeBe clothing store – one in Metairie and one in
Baton Rouge.

Why do you do what you do?

I love fashion and New Orleans. Owning my own business here gave me a way to work in the fashion industry and still live in the city.

How did you get your first break into the business?

I started working as a makeup artist for Chanel Cosmetics and loved helping people feel great about themselves. So when the opportunity came to open my own store I was able to do the same thing – but with clothing.

What are your favorite trends of the season?

The color palette is moving from neons to pastels. There are beautiful updated shades in sheer tops and colored denim. Mint and soft coral are the two shades that I saw from every brand.

If you had to pick one item, what's your favorite?

I can’t wait to wear my new Current/Elliott skinny jeans in Winter Green. I love the skinny jean trend because you can wear them with flats for day, then dress them up at night.

Which famous person would you most like to dress?

Kelly Ripa has such a fun personality and cute style; I always see her in clothes that we have at FeBe.

Why do you do business in New Orleans?

We love getting to know everyone and dressing them for all of the important days in their lives.
