Our cover this month celebrates The Sugarplum Ball for Children’s Hospital, which will take place on April 1. We are so excited to help celebrate the ball’s 30th anniversary and so pleased to present co-chairs Julie Habetz and Amanda Lo, honoree David Haydel Sr. of Haydel’s Bakery and Michael Gray, a patient who was saved from a near-drowning accident because he was taken to Children’s Hospital. What a story! This year’s theme is “The Sugarplum Stakes” and attendees will raise mint juleps and sweet teas in toasts at the Fair Grounds. For more information and to purchase tickets, call 896-9373, visit chnola.org or email kleaumon@chnola.org.

This month is chock-a-block with events, including the second annual “Edible Evening” benefiting the Green School and the Edible Schoolyard. Leila Gamard is the chair and is also co-chairing Lark in the Park. This issue features OnStage, which has generously been sponsored by one of our favorites: Richard Mathis of Symmetry Jewelry. Thanks for bringing all of the best!

St. Martin’s School is one of the top private schools in our area – both of our boys attended. They are a co-educational faith-based independent school that has served the greater New Orleans Area since 1947. St. Martin’s has recently introduced a new half-day program for its George Cottage. Limited space is available for 2- and 3-year-olds for either the half- or full-day program. If you’re interested in the George Cottage early education program, or their pre-kindergarten through 12th grade educational program centered on faith, scholarship and service, call director of admissions Susan Pansano at 736-9916.

Try to attend as many of these events as possible to help our incredible city!
