New Orleans Magazine fĂȘtes its Top Female Achievers 2011

New Orleans Magazine presented its annual Top Female Achievers at a luncheon on July 13. The event, which took place in the Grand Ballroom at the W New Orleans, toasted the magazine’s Top Female Achievers with champagne before enjoying a delectable lunch.

Cecile Tebo, Crisis Unit Commander of the New Orleans Police Department and a 2009 New Orleans Magazine Top Female Achiever, served as the event’s featured speaker. Top female achievers included: Katherine Andry Crosby, chairman of the board at Fidelity Homestead Savings Bank; Mamie Sterkx Gasperecz, executive director of Hermann-Grima/Gallier Historic Houses; Susan Hutson, New Orleans Independent Police Monitor; Jan Daniel Lancaster, Superintendent of Catholic Schools for the Archdiocese of New Orleans; Mary Landry, Rear Admiral and Commander, Eighth Coast Guard District, recently retired; Astrid LaVenia, co-owner and creator of Méson 923;
Cherice Harrison-Nelson, educator and artist; Charmaine Neville, musician and activist; Julia Reed, journalist, author and chair of the board of trustees at Ogden Museum of Southern Art; and Rev. Phoebe Roaf, associate rector
at Trinity Episcopal Church.

All proceeds from the event benefitted Grace House.
