Youth Leadership Council’s “Role Model Gala” celebrates 25 years

The Youth Leadership Council (YLC) proudly honored 25 members selected for the 2011 Role Model class at its 25th anniversary celebration. The event, which took place August 13 at the Sheraton Hotel, honored members of the New Orleans community who provide outstanding examples of the young talent that YLC represents. Honorees distinguish themselves by serving as an exemplary role model to young New Orleanians and promoting a strong desire to enhance the quality of life in the New Orleans area.

Members of the 2011 Role Model class include: Todd Anthony Battiste, Rita Benson LeBlanc, Thomas Beron, Katherine Andry Crosby, Philip F. Cossich Jr., Angela Daliet, Roy A. Glapion P.E., Jim Henderson, Natalie Jayroe, Steve Milligan, R. Ranney Mize Ph.D., H.V. Nagendra, Rickie Nutik, Phyllis L. Peoples, Rachel Piercey, Patricia Riddlebarger, Howard L. Rodgers III, Mary Beth Romig, Karla Z. Sikaffy M.Ed., Lois Simpson, Carol A. Soloman,
M. Gordon Stevens III, Derrick Tabb, Connie Uddo and Gina Warner. Dana Hansel served as the honorary chair for the Role Model Gala.
