Dress in 1940s attire for Stormin’ of the Sazerac, the Roosevelt Hotel’s annual recreation of the day in Sept. 26, 1949, when the Sazerac Bar started admitting women year round. The event starts with a brunch in the Blue Room and continues in the Sazerac Bar. Info here.
NOMA hosts Love in the Garden, the museum’s annual fete of New Orleans artists in the Sydney and Walda Besthoff Sculpture Garden. The Brass-A-Holics perform and more than 50 restaurants will be serving food. Info here.
Jerry Seinfeld is the first to hit the stage for the long-awaited re-opening of the Saenger Theatre this weekend. Known for his eponymous sitcom, the comedian is still staying relevant with his web series “Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.” He performs three shows this weekend. Info here.
Lee Blessing’s Patient A, a play about one of the first-known case of HIV transmission, opens at Loyola University tonight. The Oct. 3 production includes a post-performance panel discussion. Info here.
Kevin McDonald from the Canadian sketch comedy troupe Kids in the Hall is in town, and he’ll be at a special screening of the group’s feature film Brain Candy. It’s Smithsonian’s Museum Day, which means museums around town are offering free admission for the day (like the Smithsonian museums do). Go here for participating museums and for your free ticket to print.
