New Urban Enslavement in New Orleans Tour at Hermann-Grima House

 

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – Experience the new Urban Enslavement in New Orleans tour at Hermann-Grima House.

On this tour, guests will learn the experiences of enslaved women, men and children in urban settings and how they contrast with rural plantations. Hear the stories of Catherine, Maria, and other individuals of African descent who were enslaved by the Hermann and Grima families and view the French Quarter property through the lens of enslavement.

Docents will lead museum visitors through the 19th-century property at 820 St. Louis St., which includes slave quarters, historic house, original stable, open-hearth kitchen, and one of the largest residential courtyards in the French Quarter.

Tour Times: 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. daily through the end of October (closed Tuesdays beginning Oct. 5).
