2006 Parade of Homes

2006 Parade of Homes

Toni Wendel – President

Welcome to the Greater New Orleans Home Builders Association’s 2006 Parade of Homes. Once again we are very proud to showcase some of the finest homes that New Orleans and its neighboring parishes have to offer. This year we are offering 23 homes, 2 townhomes and 2 renovations to enjoy, built by some of the industries leading builders. Whether it is your goal to be inspired, find a builder, be up on the latest trends, or you just have a passion for architecture and interior design then I believe you will find this years show to be exceptional. Our community is rebuilding and the residential building industry is our largest economic force.

The GNO Home Builders Association is an organization made up of builders and associates who strive to bring the newest and finest building supplies and expert workmanship to our community. Our organization was founded in 1942 and we serve Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. John the Baptist, St. James, and St. Charles Parishes. The HBA and its members have been dedicated to serving the local community by promoting the ideals of ethics, responsibility and professionalism in the building industry.

We greatly appreciate your kind respect and support, and hope that you enjoy this year’s Parade.

Grab a map, plot your course, and who knows, you may even find your dream home!

Remembering the Past and Building the Future

2006 Parade of HomesJimmie GoodenParade Chairman
The concept of “home” and all that it encompasses has become so dear and unfortunately so scarce for many during these trying times. The richly woven texture of New Orleans’ cultural fabric must be preserved despite so recently being ripped at the seams in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. The HBA hopes to inspire and reinvigorate our city’s unique and essential population with state of the art building ideas and information from the area’s premiere builders and suppliers. This year’s Parade of Homes will allow us to explore the architectural styles of the past and make the post-Katrina home suitable to withstand whatever Mother Nature has in store for the future.

While touring the Parade of Homes, you will have the opportunity to experience intimately the craftsmanship of the area’s most skilled and most sought-after builders. We hope to showcase not only the homes, but also the professionals who apply their expertise and love of homebuilding in each and every project they undertake.

Welcome back to the city’s traditions and beauty! We invite you to visit each and every one of the 27 Parade homes throughout the New Orleans area. Our hope is that inspiration awaits you around every corner throughout your tour, and that the Parade can help you regain the comfort of home and permanence. I’m sure you’ll find the ideas and information you desire.
