Every year since 2002, the company Pantone, self-proclaimed authority on color, puts out its “Color of the Year.” This color is meant to set the tone of the year for fashion, interior design, and all around personal style. This year, Pantone has picked the color Marsala, yes like the wine, as its 2015 color of the year. At first, this color seems an odd choice for color of the year because of its dissimilar dark hue, but in fact is sophisticated and beautiful and can be found in many different fashion arenas.
If you are looking for that stand-out pop of color for your nuptials, Marsala may just be your best option. A perfect pairing for colors like lilac, pale pink and grey, Marsala’s earthy, robust hue is the perfect accent.
We also suggest adding Marsala into your makeup for your day-of look or all of those pre-wedding festivities. Here are our picks for nails, lips and a great smoky eye.
Tom Ford Nail Lacquer in Bordeaux Lust $32
Tom Ford Lip Color in Crimson Noir $50
Dior Lipstick in Rouge Blossom $35
