New Orleans Mission

Avenue Gives

The New Orleans Mission has been serving the community for over 31 years. Helping aid those struggling in addiction, mental illness, abuse and food insecurity. We offer a safe place of healing and restoration with programs and services designed to meet the mental, physical, and emotional needs of each person we serve.

Our long term recovery programs, located in Hammond and Lacombe, create a quiet place for restoration to continue outside the noise of the city. Through our vocational program we see people begin the healing process and watch them become the person they were created to be. We are one of the only free recovery centers in our city; giving rest and healing to the people in need.

HOW TO HELP

With the holiday season upon us, please consider giving back to the community and helping the men and women in need at New Orleans Mission. Give your time through volunteering by emailing volunteer@neworleansmission.org. Give a financial donation by texting “MISSION” to 77948 or call 504-523-2116.

Your contribution will be a vital part of our upcoming Thanksgiving meal service and Christmas toy drive for the children in our community. To learn more about the New Orleans Mission, go to www.neworleansmission.org.

Jerome Morgan, left, exonerated in May 2016 and Jarvis Ballard, right, exonerated in August 2021.

IPNO frees innocent people sentenced to life in prison and those serving unjust sentences. We recognize the root causes of wrongful convictions and unjust sentences as systemic racism and inequities. We work to expose and address these root causes by sharing our clients’ stories in court, the legislature, the community and the media. We support our clients living well and fully in the world after their release. To help support our work, visit www.ip-no.org.
