River Oaks Hospital has served the greater New Orleans area for over 50 years with holistic behavioral health treatment for adults and adolescents.

With a new leadership team, our goal is to be the provider of choice for our community. River Oaks Hospital currently has 126 acute beds serving the New Orleans region and continues to respond to the needs of the greater community. River Oaks has just opened a new children’s acute unit designed for patients ages 5 to 11.
River Oaks Hospital has eight psychiatrists to serve our patients, two of which are board-certified child and adolescent psychiatrists. The multidisciplinary treatment team includes psychiatrists, physicians, psychologists, social workers, counselors and registered nurses.
Our mission is to provide exceptional quality care to everyone who comes to us. Our goal is to ensure they have a positive clinical experience with improved outcomes, leading to a happier, healthier future.
Specialized programs include adolescent and adult psychiatric services, The New Orleans Institute for Trauma and Compulsive Behaviors, The Eating Disorders Treatment Center, dual diagnosis treatment and outpatient programs. These programs focus on pressing issues within our community such as trauma-based disorders, addiction and issues stemming from military service. Our partial hospitalization programs can help patients reintegrate into the community.
We offer music therapy, dance and movement therapy, recreational therapy, and psychodrama. An on-campus school helps patients continue their education while in treatment.
Our programs are designed to meet individual needs and no-cost assessments are available 24/7.
