Since 2016, Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates of Louisiana (POA) have been dedicated to giving their patients a life without limits through custom prosthetic and orthotic products and services. Having contracted Bacterial Meningitis, her first semester of college, Certified Prosthetist and co-owner Brittany Vicknair lived in pain for two years due to ill-fitting prosthetics. Following a custom fitting with POA of Florida’s owner Stan Patterson, her pain dissolved, and she pursued a career in prosthetics in hopes of helping others live pain free.

Brittany, Stan, and her father George opened POA to help others return to their lifestyle. Brittany sees patients of all ages across the region. POA of Louisiana offers pre- and post-amputation consultations, custom castings, and fabricates in-house high-performance prosthesis to fit every patient’s unique needs. Not only does the POA team engineer custom prosthesis to fit every lifestyle and activity level, but the team works with patients to get used to their new prosthetic.

“Many people come to us having never worn prosthetics and they think they will lead a life of discomfort,” says Brittany. “Once I was fitted properly, I got my life back. That’s what we do here – if we can’t find a solution, we make one.”
