2025 Wedding Trends

As another year comes to a close, it’s natural to look towards the new year and all of its endless possibilities. Recently, Martha Stewart Weddings came out with their top six predictions for 2025 wedding trends, and earlier this year The Knot added their insights into what brides, grooms and guests should expect in the coming months.

Respectfully to the queen that is Martha Stewart and her team, the list provided left more to be desired in our humble opinion. When it comes to trends, we hope for them to be not only specific but also helpful for those looking to really make an impact on their big day.

Their list included trends like “Edible Art Installations and Experiential Experiences,” “Dreamy Drapery,”? “Intentional Wardrobe Styling,” Wedding Content Creators, The Return of the Wedding Cake and “Soulful Spaces” and “Community Focused.” These seem a little broad and leave a lot to the imagination.

The Knot’s predictions were a little more well-rounded as they included 15 trends to expect to see in full force next year. The whole list can be read on the magazine’s website, but it included many items that were already trending this year. They did, however, mention that the list is a collective of what they’ve been seeing in the wedding world and what will continue on in the new year. Their list included items like “the year of surprises,” using fruits and vegetables as decor and in mocktails, as well as “unexpected reds” and “the repositioning of wedding parties.”

There are definitely a few from these two entities that we can whole-heartedly agree on and can’t wait to see more of in 2025.

First is the wedding content creator. We initially wrote about this new professional in the wedding industry a few years ago, but with the continued rise of social media and couple’s wedding content ending up on everyone’s FYP (For You Page), we see the need for content creators to continue their ascension into a must-have for couples. Think of a content creator as your own personal home movie. They know the fun, trending audio and skits cycling throughout the internet and can bring them to your event in an exciting way. It’s something different than the wedding video that can only add to the experience overall.

The branded wedding is another trend we expect to see more of next year. This is when a couple takes their theme for their wedding and adds it to every aspect of the wedding, putting the “event” as centerstage as the couple themselves. As The Knot points out, this branded wedding includes, “custom crests, monograms, newsletter font and typography-style stationery are just a few ways trendy couples are giving tailored, visual cues to guests.” All start with the save-the-date and are carried right through to the seating chart or stationary on the tables. “For an even more immersive experience,” continued The Knot, “some couples are adding personal touchpoints like custom fragrances, gifting suites and crafting stations.”

In the same vein, another notion we agree with is the idea of tailored weddings and immersive wedding events. We’ve seen a few weddings using this recently, one was a summer camp theme for a wedding in the mountains. From the welcome party to the reception, there are events and activities tailored to fit the theme of the wedding and the weekend. “Guests are welcomed with curated touches from the moment they arrive, like personalized welcome bags, thoughtful dinners and parties, and curated activities throughout the weekend,” said The Knot. It may seem like adding additional elements to plan, but it’s about celebrating with the ones you love in a personalized, unique way.

A few trends mentioned that have made their mark at “Let Them Eat Cake” this year already, and we see continuing strong into 2025, include caterpillar tables and 35mm photography.

We previously wrote about both of these trends and are very happy to see their place on lists for 2025. The 35mm photography look works well with the vintage-inspired fashion, food and decor that have made a comeback in recent years – like the enormous popularity of the Lambeth cake. And the caterpillar, or serpent as The Knot called them, tables look like they’re here to stay. We were originally unsure about this trend, but it’s growing on us. The idea is that the seating at the reception is just one long table that zigs and zags in a caterpillar or serpent-like pattern. For smaller or more intimate weddings, this can be a chic way to include everyone. It also doesn’t hurt that it’s visually appealing.
