26th Annual Halloween Costume Boo-tique Sat., Oct. 23, OUTSIDE N.O. Healing Center

NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Boo-tique must go!  The pandemic edition of the 26th Annual Costume Boo-tique, everyone’s favorite go-to spot for creative Halloweenery, will be held outside on the big corner lot at St. Claude Ave. and Spain St, which is owned by our longtime sponsor, the New Orleans Healing Center.

The socially distanced outdoor market will showcase a vast array of one-of-a-kind creations by New Orleans’ most inspired costumers, hatters, assemblage artists, mask-makers, and purveyors of fine vintage costumes.

Now a quarter-century old, the Halloween Costume Boo-tique grew out of the annual Carnival Creations Bazaar on Frenchmen Street. When Café Brasil closed, both events migrated to the Blue Nile, site of the Great Blue Nile Costume Bust of Mardi Gras 2011. Thanks to Threadhead Cultural Foundation, which stepped in as the nonprofit sponsor, the biannual sales rose from the ashes at the Blue Nile and moved to their new home at the New Orleans Healing Center in 2013.

More than a dozen longtime local favorites will be on hand: Oliver Manhattan, Howlpop, Cree McCree, Kate McNee, Calamity, Liz Blaz, Sweetwater Vintage, Revolver, Julie Winn (N.O. Opera), Chandra Leming, Swiet Stuff, Jacqueline Taylor, Gaby Rivarde
