COVINGTON, La (press release) – The Three Rivers Art Festival, one of the most popular juried art festivals in the Southeast region, will return to Covington’s Cultural Arts District for its 27th year on Saturday and Sunday, Nov. 11 & 12, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free!
Each year, Three Rivers draws 50,000+ art lovers to Downtown Covington to shop the work of talented artists from all over the United States, including many from the Greater New Orleans area. Over the past two decades, Three Rivers has grown from a celebration of 49 artists to more than 200 exhibitors and a variety of other features including a live music tent, live art demonstrations, local food vendors and a children’s activity area. Spread across five city blocks of Columbia Street, the festival features artist tents with work ranging from painting to metalwork and everything in between. The festival also hosts a student art competition featuring more than 400 works of art created by talented local youth, inspiring and encouraging children of all ages to experiment with and create art.
“Three Rivers is proud to once again bring some of the best artists in the country to showcase their work here on the Northshore,” says Three Rivers Art Festival Coordinator Sarada Bonnett. “Now in our 27th year, we are continuing to grow and enhance our festival offerings to include more of the music, food and family fun that has attracted thousands of art-lovers to Downtown Covington year after year!”
An exciting addition to the 2023 festival is the participation of Northshore-based artist MaryAnn Bonura, who will be doing live art demonstrations inside the Arts Alive! tent. This year’s festival will also feature culinary creations from local vendors such as Rue Chow, Cranky Pig, Rustic Press, Pyre BBQ, Yum Yum Gimme Some, Hocus Smokus, Coffee Rani, Isabella’s Pizzeria and more. And once again, the festival’s Children’s Area will feature a number of free activities for the whole family, with vendors including Grayhawk Perkins, Culinary Kids, Ballet Apetrei, Gem Mining, School of Rock, Dark Matter, Painting with Rika, the St. Tammany Children’s Museum and the Dinosaur Experience.
