Guests gathered in the St. Charles home of Mr. and Mrs. Walter C. Flower, III to support the 50th Anniversary Celebration of progress presented by The Cancer Association of Greater New Orleans.
The event featured the banjo stylings of local musician John Parker, and food and cocktails provided by Jacques-Imo’s.
Guests enjoyed the restaurant’s traditional New Orleans favorites such as crabmeat stuffed artichokes, alligator cheesecake, muffalettas, bread pudding and a make-your-own grits station.
Sally Goodyear, a good friend of Mrs. Flower, created and donated extravagant floral arrangements.
Chairpersons Ella Flower, Patricia Hardin and Wendy Baldwin Vitter, who also serves as Vice President of the board, attended the event held on March 19. President of the Board, Judge Kurt Englehardt, was also in attendance.
This United Way Partner Agency provides local patient services, research grants and education to New Orleans residents and the fundraiser was held to benefit local cancer research and patients.
