If you're a Halloween procrastinator like me, you're probably freaking out right now. There are just hours left to find the perfect costume and you have nothing. I know the feeling because I always choose my Halloween costumes at the last minute.
The good news is New Orleans is full of inspiration for easy Halloween costumes. Louisiana is home to many colorful characters who provide great inspiration for last-minute ensembles. Here are some costume ideas, inspired by some well-known Louisianians, for you procrastinators out there:

Find a cool jacket and pair it with a collared shirt. Since Dr. John knows how to accessorize, make sure you add some necklaces and a hat. Put on some sunglasses to up the cool factor.

Have you seen "The Governor's Wife" on A&E? In case you haven't, former Louisiana Governor Edwin Edwards and his wife, Trina, have a reality show now. The interesting thing is Trina is 50 years younger than Edwin. This is a great costume idea for a couple, and it's super timely.
Kermit Ruffins

Kermit Ruffins always looks cool and casual. Pair a blazer with jeans, a nice shirt and a cool tie. Add a hat and carry around a trumpet.

It's all about the beard for this costume. I'm guessing there will be a lot of "Duck Dynasty" costumes out there this year, so this look isn't super creative, but it's simple if you can find the correct beard. People will know exactly who you are, especially if you go as a group.
