“Where there is a will, there is a way, and a strong will can move a mountain.” -Unknown

As Ways and Means Council Director for the Junior League of New Orleans (JLNO) Board of Directors, Susan Kliebert will coordinate, develop and maintain the League’s fundraising activities including Touch a Truck, Run, Walk, Give, Passing the Gavel Celebration, as well as other special events and partnerships. She will be responsible for increasing awareness of JLNO’s mission and financial needs, especially how JLNO puts 100% of its fundraiser proceeds back into the community.

Through management, organization and team building, Susan will help volunteers harness their fundraising development skills to generate funds that support JLNO’s community projects. Susan will report to the board on fundraising effectiveness and recommend both policy and procedural changes to improve these events. During her time on the board, Susan hopes to continue to help our community and be more directly involved in JL’s impactful opportunities.

A native New Orleanian, Susan received a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of New Orleans. She is a CPA and Certified Forensic Accountant serving as a Senior Manager of Litigation & Forensic Consulting at Kushner LaGraize, LLC. She assists clients with litigation support services including embezzlement investigations, divorce matters and calculating commercial damages.

During her 10 years in the League, Susan has been a part of many fundraisers, including Kitchen Tour; Buy, Save, and Serve Card; Freret 5k; 95the Anniversary Celebration; Passing the Gavel Celebration, and this past year was the Planning & Development Council Committee Treasurer. Her favorite part of being a JLNO member has been “meeting new people, learning through training opportunities and seeing the direct impact our volunteering provides to the community.”

Growing up with her father in the military, Susan had the opportunity to live in several other countries before moving permanently to New Orleans. She now resides in Metairie with her husband, Kevin, and their two daughters, Katie (16) and Brooke (12). She enjoys crafting, diving, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and has volunteered with many other nonprofit organizations, such as Belles & Beaus, Ochsner’s Red Tie Affair, Moonlights & Miracles, East Jefferson Up on the Roof and Edible Garden. “We can all make a difference in someone else’s life,” she says.
