A Bridal Tidbit

National entity Tidbits is an online mecca or “the inside scoop for” the gal about town. It offers up details on new restaurant or store openings or delivers the latest style trends directly to your inbox. The company has a general overview, but also a specific site for certain cities – New Orleans being one of them.

Recently, Tidbits New Orleans emailed out a “Veil Mail” that had its “essential guide for stylish brides” with six picks of wedding essentials. Though a few of the picks, like Mignonne Gavigan earrings and Kate Spade’s second line umbrella, are not local companies like we typically focus on here at Let Them Eat Cake, the list as a whole is a solid roundup.

The New Orleans specific highlights are The Fillmore, Mignon Faget and the House of Blues, which is a national company, but a local entity in the city.

The Fillmore is a hot new music and entertainment venue that is in Harrah’s Casino. It’s recently seen the likes of big names like Lizzo and Kacey Musgraves and in its short life become the “it” spot. Like the House of Blues, this location is definitely for the more funky and edgy brides and grooms. The lighting is darker, and the art and décor highlights psychedelic music of the ‘60s and ‘70s.

The third New Orleans highlight is a favorite among many. Mignon Faget has long been a staple jewelry designer and the brand’s additional items for the home and children are popular for bridal shower and other wedding gifts. The article highlights the designer’s sterling silver wedding cake pulls, which are a favorite with LTEC. Cake pulls are a big Southern tradition and the Mignon Faget set is classic and the ribbons add a beautiful touch to any wedding cake.
