Epicureans primed their palettes for March of Dimes’ annual “Signature Chefs Gala” at the New Orleans Marriott on November 21. The event kicked off with a cocktail hour and silent auction, while guests sampled hors d’oeuvres by 5 Fifty 5 chef Mark Quitney. The champagne reception featured the Regg Sanders Jazz Trio. New Orleans’ celebrity chefs joined visiting chefs from all over the country, crafting their own signature dishes. Music was provided by Out of the Blue. One of the most coveted live auction items was wine and dinner for 10 prepared by Galatoire’s chef
Brian Landry in a historic home on Pirate’s Alley.

Co-chairs of the event were Mark Quitney, and Angela and Austin Westbrook. The event honored Orleans Parish Sheriff Marlin Gusman as well as chef Matt Murphy of M Bistro at The Ritz-Carlton, New Orleans.

March of Dimes is a nonprofit which, after winning the battle against polio, decided to focus on pregnancy and baby health by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality.
