Held in the art-filled Garden District mansion of the Strachan-Payne home, this year’s “Fall into Fashion” celebrated the past decade of the event, which was created by Darleen Carlisle to help New Orleans women rebuild their wardrobes after Hurricane Katrina. Cumulatively, the event has raised more than $150,000 in support of the musicians of the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra. A musician ensemble from the orchestra featured John Reeks and son.
The event honored the contributions of Mrs. Louis Claverie, Laura Claverie’s mother-in-law who started the Encore Shop 60 years ago. All of the proceeds from the shop benefit the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra.
Held in the Teahouse located in the gardens, illuminated by TPG and owner Kenny Rabalais, over 80 exclusive designer boutique items were available for purchase. Top designers included Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Fendi, Judith Leiber, Manola Blahnik, Tory Burch, Bottega Veneta, Celine, Longchamp, Bally and a selection of jewelry by David Yurman.
St. James Cheese Company, Galatoire’s, Mr. B, Martin Wine Cellar and Southern Hospitality Catering provided an elegant selection of culinary delights. As part of the culinary team, Betty Speyrer created a spread of artesian pastries.
Danielle Trostorff and daughter Lauren Trostorff served as Honorary Co-Chairs.
