A Friendly Meal

The Kingsley House Foundation holds its third “Friendraising Luncheon.”
Steven Hronek

Kingsley House held their annual “friendraising” luncheon, themed “Celebrate,” on Tuesday, April 24, at the Kingsley House Historic Gymnasium (circa 1832).

The luncheon, a fundraiser for the Kingsley House, is in its third year. The children at Kingsley House presented a theatrical performance, and the teenagers created the centerpieces for the luncheon. At the event, the Twister Sisters, a group of senior citizens, danced for the guests. The program began promptly at noon and was free. Kingsley House accepted donations throughout the fundraiser.

The Kingsley House educates children, strengthens families and builds communities as a United Way Community Impact Partner of the Greater New Orleans area. The Kingsley House has several nationally accredited and state certified programs that make a positive difference in the communities they serve. Since early October 2005, Kingsley House staff has provided more than 30,000 individuals with essential services and resources to aid in their recovery and healing. Children and families have been linked to the comprehensive array of programs at Kingsley House, as well as other vital programs and services being provided by fellow social and human service organizations throughout Southeast Louisiana.
