You’re sitting at your desk, tapping your pen, day dreaming about making a mad dash to a great happy hour. Time can’t seem to move fast enough. Don’t worry, there are plenty of daily specials, deals and decent happy hours to choose from around the city. And these days, bartenders are pulling out all of the stops to spoil us with the most creative spirits around.
Fulton Alley (600 Fulton Alley)
This boutique bowling alley is fun and full of great cocktail deals. The focus for the happiest hour is on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday is Fulton Social. Start the week off right with $5 Tito’s and $5 Makers Mark. Next is Toki Tuesdays, which offers $8 deals including a Toki Old Fashioned, Red Lily and Toki Highballs. Then on hump day, it’s Warehouse Wednesdays. This means all wines by the glass are half off and you can choose select $5 cocktail deals, including Absolut flavors. The early/mid week happy hours are available from open to close.
Trinity (1117 Decatur St.)
Trinity has a great food menu, but we took a closer look at the cocktail specials. If you’re in the French Quarter consider a stop here.
Happy hour runs Tuesday through Friday from 4 p.m. – 6 p.m., and Saturday and Sunday 3 p.m. – 6 p.m. You can get $4 domestic beer; $5 draft; $5 martinis; $6 house red and white, sparking and rosé; and $7 drink of the day. Trinity also has a Drag Brunch every Saturday morning. They offer $14 bottomless mimosas and you can choose from two seatings – 11:15 a.m. or 1:30 p.m. – be sure to make a reservation.
Bacchanal Wine (600 Poland Ave.)
Bacchanal has a happy hour that runs seven days a week from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m., which is basically all day. You can grab wines by the glass for $5, $1 off beer at the bar and sip on $6 classic cocktails. Every week the bar features something new.
This week's feature is the NOLA 7th Street Wheat beer, which is a light bodied, citrus herbal tasting American brew.
In this Bywater spot, not only do they feature hundreds of wines, courtyard dining and original cocktails, but some also call it Nola’s best backyard party with great happy hour specials.
Event alert: If you love fairytales, Disney, dressing up and drink discounts, then the twisted Disney Bar Crawl coming mid September is just for you. Disney characters will gather to drink, dance and party. You have to register to join the fun, but you’ll get a free drink when you sign up, one drink cup and wristband, exclusive prices on drinks at the bars, no cover to any bar and much much more. Oh boy!
