In 2001, a group of local physicians and businessmen created New Orleans Medical Mission Services Foundation and began medical missionary work throughout Central and South America. The group’s “Mission Possible 2007 Gala” was held on June 23 at Generations Hall. Featuring a musical performance by Thrill, silent and live auctions, a jewelry raffle, dining and cocktails, NOMMS supporters had a busy night of fun to raise funds.
Among the auction items was a 10-day stay in Puerto Vallarta, a signed George Rodrigue “Blue Dog” print and a football signed by the New Orleans Saints. Swiss Confectionery, Ambrosia Bakery and the Catering Connection provided the food.
In addition to its medical missionary services, NOMMS also donates medical supplies and institutes educational programs. This event is the primary financial source for the group.
