My entertaining column features “O What A Night” for the Ogden Museum of Southern Art and it will give you a great idea for your next big party! Their inspiration was a Clementine Hunter painting that was donated to the museum. If you need inspiration for your next party, choose one of our favorite paintings or a piece of sculpture and “go for it!” Take a cue from its theme or color and plan something fun.

Whimsy, a great party supply boutique, is now open in River Ridge at 1915 Hickory Ave. Darling birthday accessories and an amazing balloon selection make this a destination shop. The funny, quirky beverage napkins and “go” cups, cool hostess gifts and even a section for new brides are reasons to stop by anytime.

Glenn Vesh and Perfect Presentations have recently changed their name to encompass all of the magnificent event work that they do! Perfect Presentations Florals and Event Design reflects not only the exquisite floral designs for which they are so well-known and that you see at so many of our city’s most impressive events, but also the creativity and vision of a whole event. They are even doing destination weddings! “[The weddings] have truly picked up,” Vesh says. “Brides and grooms are having a blast and getting exactly what they want over the phone or e-mail. When they walk in and see our designs, their expectations have always been met – and more!” In business for more than 25 years, and consistently written up as one of the leading florists in the South, they’re also listed as one of the seven top florists in the U.S. Do not miss their designs in the Windsor Court lobby, Hotel Monteleone’s Christmas presentations or, of course, in Arnaud’s main dining room this holiday season.

“Love in the Garden” is coming up for the New Orleans Museum of Art on September 25, and they’ve planned another great event in the Sculpture Garden in City Park.
