A note from Bev

We are honored to feature the Whitney Zoo-To-Do and the Humana Zoo-To-Do for Kids on our April cover so you’ll have lots of time to get your tickets early! Thanks so much to Chairman and CEO of Whitney National Bank John C. Hope III, Gala Chairwoman Libby Hoefer, President and CEO of the Audubon Nature Institute Ron Forman, Kids Zoo-To-Do Chairwoman Dr. Jenny Charpentier and Clifton LeBlanc, representing Lexus of New Orleans. This year the 22nd annual event will raise funds for the lush tropical oasis they will call: The Cool Zoo Splash Park. This attraction will include a giant alligator slide, dancing water and lots of new activities to enthrall children and adults alike!

Zoo-To-Do has raised over $20 million for Audubon Zoo projects since 1972 – amazing! You don’t want to miss the fabulous food and libations donated by the best restaurants and establishments in town, music by Sister Sledge and a chance to win a 2010 Lexus Hybrid 11S 250 (chances are only $100 a piece). April 30 is the Kids Zoo-To-Do presented by Humana and the Whitney Zoo-To-Do is May 7. You won’t want to miss either one!

It is so exciting to have beautiful weather, and to celebrate spring we have our annual fabulous spring fashions feature to freshen up your wardrobe. A new feature, “Put Some Spring in Your Routine,” will help you update your beauty routine to get ready for your new wardrobe. Graduation is coming, and we have great ideas for those favorite grads: this annual gift guide is a lifesaver. One of my recent columns featured Mary Lou and Bill Christovich’s “Vintage Wedding,” and in this issue I feature their incredible 60th anniversary party! Thanks to them both.

I cannot believe that the address of Galatoire’s was incorrect in out last issue; it’s 209 Bourbon St. of course, and I want to give Linda Beck photo credit for taking all of those beautiful photos.
