Our cover this month features “CHAIRish the Children,” the Louisiana Children’s Museum’s largest fundraiser of the year. We are thrilled to feature cover models Board President Jennifer Couvillon with co-chairs Gina McMahon and Maria Huete and Mark Boucree, Vice President of Community Development Banking for title sponsor Capital One. The museum celebrates 14 years of this favorite auction and gala that features one-of-a-kind whimsical chairs for the auction. This year the museum will be transformed into a magical carnival where you’ll be treated to food and spirits from some of New Orleans’ best restaurants, with exciting games, entertainment and both silent and live auctions.
If you haven’t been to the museum lately, please go to promote hands-on participatory learning for children of all ages in a brightly colored “continuum framework.” They encourage discovery through observation, inquiry, creative construction, role playing and problem solving. Their focus is on children from birth to 11 years of age, but we all love it!
The party is Saturday, August 25; the patron party is from 7 to 8 p.m. and starts at $150 a person, with the gala directly following for $75 a person. Call 266-2415 for tickets and further details.
