A Reel Fun Time

Carla Adams decided to have a girls’ night out movie party at Canal Place and invited 17 friends to see Burnt starring Bradley Cooper! Of course we wanted Steven Putt as the only male invited – he’s the King of Canal Place!

Everyone was invited by evite for a Tuesday night and arrived at 6 p.m. for specialty drinks at the bar. Cocktail tables were set up, and I added my single Celebration Centerpieces: peppers filled with lilies, gerbera daisies and lisianthus. Tomatoes on the vine scattered about à la the theme. Gourmet popcorn was served. I painted wine glasses for everyone with their names on them so they had a favor to take home.

After cocktails, we all moved into the theatre for dinner, which was served buffet-style. We brought tablecloths and flowers to decorate, but you really don't have to do anything – Canal Place Theatres does it all and for a very affordable price. The menu included: a salumi and cheese platter, pork sliders; mushroom tartlettes; chicken salad; and Caprese bites, along with white and red wines. Bradley Cooper was great in the film and we were all home by 10 p.m. after chattering away after the movie.

Thanks to manager Steven Marlin for helping us to coordinate the whole night; he says that if you're interested in throwing your own movie night to call 229-4251. It was such fun!
