A Seated Spectacular

Nina and Ken Friend invite us to their table for a special dinner.

Nina and Ken Friend of Friend and Co. love seated dinner parties! Now that the holidays are over it’s great to entertain at home and throw a special party for close friends. Nina loves an eclectic look for her home, mixing Italian, French and English antiques. The same sentiment is reflected in her table setting. For this party for eight, she mixed two different china patterns, Anna Weatherley and Herend, and added lots of votive candles, heirloom silver and three different patterns of crystal stemware. Nina is busy with Friend and Co., but add in two adorable children, three pets – Deuce, the yellow lab, Buddy the Chihuahua and Jingles the cat – and volunteering at the children’s schools, she loves to set the scene and leave the cooking to her favorite caterers. We took her favorite saltcellars, created mini flower arrangements and added placecards to each. Her hand-painted cachepot is filled with hydrangeas and tubes with Casablanca lilies, so guests can see each other easily across the table.

Friend and Co. is the official jeweler for the Saints, so Nina set an intimate table for two in another room, to honor our winning Saints team. Take everything you have with a touch of gold or fleur-de-lis and add to the table. The Casablanca lilies and the white hydrangeas are placed in a gold vase. Even the votives have a gold rim and literally twinkle with excitement, just like our favorite team! Add Saints-themed music; we all know how to sing every “Who Dat” song there is!
