Arthur Hardy has been following Mardi Gras all his life; he is one of the world’s preeminent authorities on New Orleans Mardi Gras. This year, Arthur visited 49 Carnival Krewe Captains "behind the scenes." Captains oversee all aspects of their Krewes’ parades and organizing a parade requires an enormous investment of time. Krewe Captains receive no pay and must work their day jobs around their all-encompassing responsibilities as parade organizers.
