What would the holiday season be without the Preservation Resource Center’s annual “Holiday Home Tour”? This year’s event—co-chaired by Suzanne Perlis and Kristi Trail—was held Dec. 9 and 10 and featured the Garden District homes of Mr. and Mrs. Beau Beals, Dr. Patrick Drennan and Dr. Michael Higgins, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Manning, Mr. and Mrs. W. Howard Moses, Mr. and Mrs. Bradford Powers, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Stall, and Deborah Vinson. These historic homes were all adorned with holiday trimmings and had live music. And at Trinity Episcopal Church, where tour-goers bought their tickets, there was a holiday boutique and food was served.
A celebration kicked off the tour on Dec. 8 with a patron party—co-chaired by Grace Kaynor and Michele Murphy—at Sybil and Blair Favrot’s home, which overflowed with people and seasonal cheer.
The Holiday Home Tour enjoyed its 31st year with proceeds benefiting the PRC’s post-Katrina rebuilding programs. The PRC was founded in 1974 to promote the “preservation, restoration, and revitalization of New Orleans’ historic architecture and neighborhoods.” The nonprofit organization provides programs and services that not only benefit the local community, but also educate the world on the historical importance of the beauty of New Orleans.
