Maybe some kids don’t think grownups are cool, but at the Louisiana Children’s Museum’s annual fundraiser, partygoers put at stop to this common misconception on August 29.
CHAIRish the Children was a smashing success this year, thanks to numerous sponsors, attendees and co-chairs Amanda Lo and Annie Phillips. It was fun for all who attended, as there were plenty of food options, cocktails and live music.
The patron party began at 7 p.m.; the main event began an hour later and lasted until around midnight.
During the event, guests participated in live and silent auctions for a variety of prizes; though the main attractions were the creative chairs designed by local artists, school children and celebrities.
The museum promotes hands-on participatory learning for children of all ages, encouraging discovery and curiosity through observation, creative construction, problem solving and inquiry. LCM regularly uses the “power of play” to reinforce school-based learning and understanding through their various exhibits and learning opportunities.
