Digital Media Intern

Renaissance Publishing, a nationally award-winning media company based in New Orleans, is seeking candidates for a digital and social media-based internship. This position is unpaid will work directly with the Digital Media Editor to help create and share magazine content across all social media platforms.

The intern candidate should have knowledge of all social media platforms, as well as (though not required) familiarity with content/social media scheduling platforms like Hootsuite and Later. Must be responsible and resourceful, with good communication skills and the ability to be self-motivated as the internship is remote.

Some writing opportunities available if interest is expressed. Majors in English, Journalism, Communications or Marketing preferred, but not required.

Sales:

Sponsored Content Coordinator/Copywriter

Renaissance Publishing, a nationally award-winning media company based in New Orleans, is seeking a full time Sponsored Content Coordinator/Copywriter. This position will be a seasoned creative leader that works closely with the Associate Publisher, the sales team and all advertising clients.

The candidate should have superior writing and strong conceptual communication skills and is able to maintain brand consistency for advertisers across multiple industries while maintaining a unified company voice. Daily tasks include interfacing with the sales team and advertising clients to produce original copy and slogans for advertorial content, editing and maintaining brand consistency across all channels, and working with the digital/print/video production team to craft ideas that work well within budget.

Must be a polished communicator with an action-oriented focus, capable of solving communication challenges and developing original solutions in a fast-paced environment. Should be a creative thinker with prolific ideas, able to juggle multiple projects under tight deadlines. Familiarity with trends in advertising and knowledge of the promotional spectrum are helpful. Strong proofreading skills required.

Technical skills include: experience with Adobe Creative Suite products, specifically InDesign; experience with WordPress is appreciated but not required; familiarity and comfort with Dropbox and a remote server; and the ability to organize workload in order to meet strict deadlines.

Our media assets include Biz New Orleans, New Orleans Magazine, New Orleans Bride, New Orleans Homes, St. Charles Avenue, Louisiana Life, Acadiana Profile and all digital extensions of these assets.

Account Executive

The Account Executive is responsible for all aspects of selling advertising via print, online, event sponsorship, and social media outlets to local businesses that target the specific industry. The position is responsible for generating revenue through advertising sales. Expertise in developing the sales process, obtaining leads and managing the sales funnel, maintaining existing client relationships, and providing detailed reporting and sales forecasting is required.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

  • Direct and manage customer development activities, including face-to-face customer contact to create and develop a good business relationship with existing and inactive customers and retain and build additional revenues in advertising sales and event sponsorships
  • Utilize consultative skills to assess client needs to enhance business opportunities
  • Work directly in the field to research and cultivate leads to build a strong pipeline of qualified prospects in order to maximize conversion
  • Utilize entrepreneurial mindset to manage accounts through creative communication and marketing strategies to engage local businesses
  • Conduct outside sales and service calls to ensure a quality customer experience
  • Conduct outside sales and service calls to reactivate inactive customer accounts
  • Manage follow-up process including ad materials and monthly proofing of magazine
  • Ensure customer ad placements are executed flawlessly
  • Facilitate company collection policies and procedures
  • Prepare monthly sales forecasts
  • Maintain a strong focus on continuously meeting and exceeding sales goals on a monthly basis

Desired Skills and Experience

  • BA required
  • 3+ years of a proven track record in a sales
