Production Designer

New Orleans-based publishing company Renaissance Publishing is looking for a self-motivated graphic designer with excellent design skills for a fast-paced workload. The production designer will work with other designers, sales representatives and the in-house marketing team to provide technical design help, creative input and process support and improvement.

Renaissance Publishing owns and publishes seven magazine titles, as well as a number of custom publishing projects. As a production designer, the position will be expected to work on ads for all publications, in addition to ads across our digital assets.

In addition to print, the production designer will also work to process and upload content from the magazines onto the company’s various websites.

The production designer responsibilities also entail working with the marketing team and digital editor as needed to create collateral for contests, events and promotions. Some past collateral has included landing pages, web and print advertisements, custom-printed brochures, and more.

We’re looking for someone who’s comfortable with high-priority work, can perform well under deadlines and is confident in their ability to self-start. All workflow is cloud based.

Typical day to day tasks

  • Receive and process as-is creative for print or web
  • Use provided materials and stock photos to create print or web ads to suit client’s needs
  • Work with Art Directors and Production Manager to update completed print files
  • Send quick responses to small questions, specification checks and technical queries
  • Set-up newsletter templates and place ad banners within Active Campaign

Technical Skills

  • Fluent in Adobe Creative Suite, with an emphasis on InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator
  • Comfortable working with Dropbox and a remote server
  • Familiar and comfortable with Google Drive and Google Sheets
  • Experience with WordPress back end is appreciated but not required
  • Familiarity with Issuu (software) is a plus
  • Familiarity with Active Campaign (or other newsletter platforms) is a plus
  • Understanding of print processes and terms (crop, bleed, CMYK vs. RGB) is a plus

Account Executive

Renaissance Publishing, a nationally award-winning media company based in New Orleans, is seeking a full-time Account Executive to join our dynamic New Orleans Magazine team.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker who enjoys working as a consultant to business owners, advertising agencies, and marketing managers. The primary focus of this position is to develop strategic advertising solutions and sell integrated advertising to local, regional, and national clients. Our ideal candidate will have experience developing new business, creating marketing plans, maintaining client relationships, and selling creative solutions.

This position requires polished communication, strong organization, self-motivation, and the ability to organize workload to meet strict deadlines. Familiarity with trends in advertising and print/digital media products is a plus.

Our media assets also include Biz New Orleans, New Orleans Homes, New Orleans Bride, St. Charles Avenue, Louisiana Life, Acadiana Profile, and all digital extensions of these assets.

This is a full-time position with benefits that offers a base salary and the opportunities to grow income through commission and bonuses.
