Junior Achievement of Greater New Orleans honored its newest class at the annual Business Hall of Fame reception on May 19 at The Roosevelt New Orleans. The 2011 laureates were: President and CEO of Transoceanic Trading and Development Company, LLC, Gregory Rusovich; President of Geocent, LLC, Dr. Robert A. Savoie; CEO of Taylor Energy Company, LLC, Phyllis M. Taylor; and Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of Entergy New Orleans, Roderick K. West. James E. Fitzmorris Jr., President and CEO of Fitzmorris & Associates, Inc., was awarded the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award.

Event chair James J. Reiss Jr. of Reiss Companies organized a lavish affair attended by more than 300 guests. Reiss acted as emcee and presented each honoree with a Crystal Eagle designed by Steuben as a symbol of their “entrepreneurial spirit and excellence in business leadership.” During the three-course dinner catered by The Roosevelt New Orleans, Philip Melancon played keyboard.

The Business Hall of Fame was established in 1984 to honor local businessmen and women “who have embraced the spirit of entrepreneurship” in the New Orleans community. Each honoree has been recognized by his or her own organization or profession for making a significant contribution to the field and acting as a role model.
