Actors and Indians

“My Darlin’ New Orleans” and the cast of “Treme” rolled out the red carpet for their third annual celebrity gala and auction at Generations Hall on March 31. Event Coordinator Robin Bordelon Borne and Association Producer of “Treme” season three Laura Schweigman helped create a noteworthy event that generated nearly $100,000 for various local charities.

Guests were greeted by The Guardians of the Flame Mardi Gras Indian tribe, who also preformed later in the evening along with the Roots of Music Marching Band.

Southern Hospitality Catering provided a variety of food for evening. Local chefs – Susan Spicer of Bayona, Tory McPhail of Commander’s Palace and Alon Shaya of Domenica – also created an array of specialty items to tantalize attendants’ palates.

A silent and live auction featured over 300 spectacular items. Everything from an inaugural Jazz Fest poster to a spot as an extra on “Treme” to a movie tour and lunch with Clarke Peters were eligible for bidding.
