NEW ORLEANS (press release) – The Algiers Mardi Gras Festival returns for its 6th annual celebration on Saturday, Jan. 24.
The festival is free admission and will feature live entertainment on two stages. The main stage will be hosted by 9th Ward Blackk and the Kids’ Zone stage will be hosted by Comedienne Riga Ruby.
Scheduled to perform: The Brass-A-Holics, Big Frank and Lil Frank, DJPolog504, Monkey Hill, BJ So Cole, the Edna Karr High School Voices of Pride, DJ Mookie, Naydja Cojoe, the U.S. Marine Forces Reserve Jazz Band, and Big Sam’s Funky Nation.
The festival will begin with a parade featuring school from Algiers, marching bands, community dance groups and representatives of local Mardi Gras parade krewes.
Time: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
